There are nine hotspots to find in this panorama. This partly open area of low shrubs gives walkers their first glimpse of the mountains. They can see Mt Exmouth and Split Rock with the plains beyond stretching away like a sea to the west. This area is dominated by Cough Bush/Curry Bush (Cassinia laevis) which is a coloniser after fire. The small white flowers when crushed smell like curry.
